One thing that you will need to be aware of in order to enjoy class to its fullest is the weather. I use a variety of online services to check what the weather will likely be when I am planning an excursion, and a little bit of foresight can go a long ways!
My 2 faves:
This forecast gives you an hour-by-hour look at the projected temperature, wind speed/direction, precipitation potential, sky cover, and snow/rain amounts. Usually it’s pretty accurate, and great for planning a run during the sunniest/warmest part of the day!
This is a great weather visualization tool, with the ability to zoom in and take a closer look without having to reload the browser. Furthermore, you can change which kinds of data are loaded and animate the last 10-12 images, giving you some idea of how fast the weather is moving.
