Hello OBB-ers! This blog will be the repository for all of the resources and information that you will need to get everything you can out of the Outdoor Birding Basics class from Cornell Outdoor Education and the Lab of Ornithology.

By now you’ve already gotten your field guide, an orientation to the course, and your imagination stoked about all of the birds we’ll see this spring. If you get a chance, check out the links on the right side of the page. There are links to bird video and audio sites, reviews of binoculars and spotting scopes, even the list of birds that was spotted by the OBB class last year!

Where is the RSS symbol?

Hi Kim-
I’m currently using the Safari browser on a mac, and a little “RSS” tag in blue is displayed in the address line at the top of the page. If you click on it it switches to the RSS reader view, and you can bookmark it and place it on your bookmarks bar at the top of the browser.
I believe Firefox works the same, and I’m not sure about Internet Explorer, but there is a link on the microsoft website that explains it:
